Hiking and Geocaching on the Baer Canyon Trail

A couple Fridays ago I had a day off so my trusty hiking companion and I went for a hike and some geocaching in Farmington, Utah’s Baer Canyon. As usual, we did more hiking and exploring than finding geocaches. In a way, that’s good as it gives us a reason to go back. There are 2 distinct trails to follow in the canyon. One is on the south side of the stream and the other on the North. On this day we took the South side. We learned after 30 minutes of hiking that the geocache we were looking for was on the North. Doh! I need to learn to read ALL of the words on the cache descriptions.

The trail winds through some great leafy trees and shrubs so it was a great hike in this fall season. We turned around at the “bridge” over the stream after we took a break and ate our trail snacks.

You can enter the trails at N41 01.813 W111 53.877

Aww, man! You’re making me totally jealous that you get to enjoy that amazing Autumns that Utah always enjoys. Stuck here in Oregon, the leaves are soggy and brown. (Plus, kudos for instilling your boy with a love for physical activity… I wish more Americans would do that for their kids!)
