Here is another local race. I found the information on Stridersrunning.com a great local running store.
“Changes For The Classic”
For over 22 years, the Standard-Examiner Classic has been a premier running event in the Top of Utah. With a new co-sponsor, Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital Center, this year’s race will once again provide runners of all levels an exciting event to test their skills and showcase their talents. It will also give families an opportunity to participate in an event that promotes a healthy lifestyle.
The 2007 Classic will be held September 22 in Davis County. As in the past, the event will feature a 10K run, a 5K run and a 2 mile walk. The 10K and 5K race will start at the Intermountain Layton Clinic, 1275 N. 1200 W. off of Antelope Drive and will finish at the Layton Commons Park. Racers of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate and compete.
Keeping with the tradition of the original Standard-Examiner Classic, all proceeds from the race will go to McKay-Dee Hospital’s Heart Services Program.
“The Standard-Examiner Classic has a long history of benefit to the community and increasing the awareness of healthy lifestyles. We are excited to have an organization, such as McKay-Dee Hospital, join with us to broaden the reach and impact of this event,” said Lee Carter, Standard-Examiner publisher.
Mark your calendars and start training now for this annual event.
